AHL at the 2022 International Attachment Conference in Lisbon, Portugal: Modelling Adolescent Attachment in a Clinical Sample with a Network Approach

Sherene Balanji presented research at the International Attachment Conference using a novel method of data visualization to explore the relationship between parent-adolescent attachment in teens with clinical concerns. This analysis is one component of her Master's thesis which aims to visualize the relationship between transdiagnostic risk factors for psychopathology in youth. This poster advances current understanding of youth attachment by applying cross-sectional network analyses to model clinical adolescents’ attachment to their parent(s) or other caregivers. This was achieved by graphically plotting youth responses on the Adolescent Attachment Anxiety and Avoidance Inventory (Morretti & Osbuth, 2009).
